What's New Around the Farm

  • Spring of 2023, we tried our hand at growing sweet onions for the first time with great success along with planting the first radishes the farm has ever had. We added additional acres of tomatoes, squash, potatoes, and peppers to help provide an endless supply for anyone needing large quantities at a time. We have added a new variety of yellow meated watermelon line up which still includes the varieties our customers have grown to love throughout the years. Not forgetting last year's favorite newbie, the orange meated watermelon. It will be making a return this year!
  • Summer 2022, we added an additional section of drip/ground irrigation to help maximize our possibilities and flexibility with crops.
  • In 2022 we have added another acre to our strawberry crop. We also have planted English peas and orange watermelon as our two newest additions to our ever growing list of produce grown right here in our garden.
  • In Spring 2021 we welcomed our first Strawberry crop with great success and enjoyed being able to start our Spring season earlier than usual.
  • In the Summer of 2020, drip irrigation was installed for the first time. Up until then, all produce was irrigated using overhead irrigation with a pivot system. Drip irrigation has many benefits and has now allowed for making the addition of a Spring strawberry crop due to be ready mid Spring 2021.
  • In the Spring of 2018 we made improvements to our produce barn by adding walls and a store front. We aim to provide our customers with a pleasant shopping experience. With the addition, we are able to place more produce out on display, along with adding merchandise such as jams and jellies, t-shirts, and more that are coming soon, later in Summer. We have also added a continuous sheller to our shelling line up. This will allow for us to shell larger quantities of peas and butter beans at a faster pace.
  • In 2017 we have taken ground that has previously been utilized as a hay field into workable, vegetable ground. An overhead irrigation has been placed to maximize it's capability. We look forward to using the added acreage in years to come for much needed crop rotation while we continue to expand our crop selection. The first crop being sweet potatoes.
  • In Spring 2016 we added some new elements to the produce barn. We added cement and walls to create a more inviting market for our customers to enjoy. Keeping with the open, roadside appeal.
  • (2015) Over the past 2 years we have added an additional 20 acres to our growing vegetable crop. Along with more acreage we have also added a second irrigation system that helps us grow those yummy veggies everyone loves so much! Our u-pick operation spans over 90 acres. Our season starts Mother's Day weekend each Spring and runs into the first part of July. We open back up for our Fall crops the first of September.
